Theme: Tackling Health Service delivery bottlenecks through evidence-informed decision-making

         The Oromia Health Bureau is pleased to announce a call for abstracts for the 2nd Annual Research Conference on ‘Tackling Health Service delivery bottlenecks through evidence-informed decision-making.’ The research conference will be held on August 10 and 11, 2023.  It aims to identify and document existing evidence  on health service  delivery  status and bottlenecks that help contribute to potential key stakeholders’ future orientation in advancing evidence generation and utilization in the health system. More specifically, the conference aims to:-
• Compile and disseminate available evidence on health service delivery bottlenecks,
• Identify innovative evidence/technologies and translate them into practices,
• Bridge the evidence generation and translation systems for better healthcare delivery services,
• Improve evidence generation and utilization culture in the region’s health care delivery system.
The Oromia Health Bureau invites abstracts of research, field experiences, and best practices relevant to health system bottlenecks related to health promotion, prevention, curative, and rehabilitative services. This year’s conference’s grand theme focuses on tackling health service delivery bottlenecks through evidence-informed decision-making.
Sub-themes:
         • Quality data for better health service delivery: Evidence-informed decisions as a base for UHC,
         • Healthcare delivery in humanitarian crises settings,
          • Health technologies and innovations for health service delivery improvement,
          • Healthcare leadership.
Guidelines for abstracts:-
• Include the authors’ name, e-mail, and phone number of the presenting author, institutional affiliations, date of study/intervention, and the sub-theme relevant to your abstract as indicated on the abstract template.
• The main body of the abstract should be limited to no more than 350 words.
• The abstract should be structured as follows (please, use the attached template).
•  Introduction/Problem/Context: This section should answer; (1) what is known about the topic?, and (2) what the problem is and why the problem is urgent?.
•  Methods: Descriptions of the study site, participants/target population, study design and sampling, data collection, and analysis.
•  Results: Summary of key findings; if published, provide a link or electronic copy
•  Policy Implications: Describe the outcomes and policy implications of the study.
• Abstract submission opens on June 6, 2023, and closes on June 25, 2023. Decisions on the submitted abstracts will be communicated to the author(s) by July 5, 2023.
• If an abstract is accepted for oral or poster presentation, the author must attend in person for the presentation. The presenting author should confirm her or his participation by July 10, 2023, to have the abstract acceptance confirmed.
