MoU Signed for the CONNECT Initiative
The Oromia Health Bureau (OHB), Orbit Health (eHealth IT Services PLC), and ABH Partners PLC have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Addis Ababa to launch the CONNECT Initiative—an ambitious partnership aimed at transforming integrated health service delivery across Oromia.
The CONNECT Initiative is designed to strengthen digitally enabled and people-centered health systems by linking key service areas, including maternal, child, and adolescent health; nutrition; Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH); education; and early childhood development. Through this integrated approach, the initiative seeks to improve coordination, enhance service quality, and ensure that communities receive comprehensive and continuous care.
Central to the partnership is the use of innovative digital health solutions, data-driven decision-making, implementation science, and institutional capacity building. By leveraging technology and evidence-based practices, the initiative aims to improve health outcomes, enhance system efficiency, and support sustainable development goals in the region.
The collaboration reflects a shared commitment among the partners to strengthen public health systems, empower communities, and create measurable, long-term impact. The CONNECT Initiative marks a significant milestone toward building a resilient, inclusive, and evidence-driven health system for the people of Oromia.
